Banverket have awarded Pandrol with a new five year contract, outlining their intention to switch to the PANDROL FASTCLIP system. They have previously used the Pandrol e-Clip system.

The contract will see annual supplies of between 300k and 350k sleepers.

Banverket has introduced a new design of sleeper for axle loads of up to 30 tonnes, at present, in anticipation of their proposed network upgrade to accommodate future Heavy Haul requirements, and the performance of FASTCLIP in other Heavy Haul applications was a factor in its selection.

Three sleeper makers will provide the sleepers for the contract: Abetong, Strangbetong and Durtrack.

Supplies commenced in the last quarter of 2007. A gradual build-up of sleeper capacity will culminate in a total switch over from e-Clip to PANDROL FASTCLIP for all renewal sleepers.
