On December 1 2008 Pandrol International Limited completed the purchase of Rosenqvist Rail AB, a Swedish track machine builder with a reputation for quality equipment.

Rosenqvist Rail AB manufactures high-output equipment for the mechanised installation and extraction of elastic fastenings, especially pre-assembled, captive fastenings like FASTCLIP, and will therefore be a good strategic fit for the Pandrol business. FASTCLIP, Rosenqvist’s machines and Stressing Rollers from Vortok (another Pandrol company) form a unique ‘system’ which greatly enhances the efficiency of the track laying and de-stressing processes and the management of track possessions.

It also designs and builds rail handling, sleeper handling, ballast regulation equipment, sleeper layers, rail trailers and Hyrail attachments. It is a small but innovative company with excellent growth prospects over the next few years. Rosenqvist has sold most of its equipment in Europe to date.

The international reach of Pandrol and the Delachaux group will provide valuable assistance in growing the business. The founder, Anders Rosenqvist, will continue to manage the business on a day to day basis.
