At Pandrol, supporting our customers is a key priority, and our global teams are working hard to avoid disruptions from the COVID-19 virus while at the same time acting responsibly to do everything we can to prevent further spread and protecting our people. We continue to closely monitor and assess the evolving situation in each of our global locations and will be careful about communicating with affected customers regarding shipment timing or other issues resulting from this situation.

Our approach to COVID-19

Pandrol has undertaken regular reviews of all of our critical activities since the initial outbreak in China, and our executive staff are meeting regularly to monitor activities.

Our team members

Pandrol is committed to providing a safe environment for all employees, their families and the communities in which we operate. We have asked our employees to work at home where possible to reduce transmission risks and to keep them safe.

Pandrol is strictly within all international guidelines with regards travel and has advised against all national and international travel for internal meetings.  We are also working with our customers, suppliers and partners to reduce any travel requirements. This is to reduce transmission risks and protect our workforce and to adhere to the dynamic environment of government-imposed restrictions and quarantine. When employees do need to travel, guidance and advice are in place.  Internal and external events have been rescheduled virtually, postponed or cancelled.

Each global site has detailed processes in place to support our employees, including sickness and time off policies for those who need to self-isolate, fall ill, or need to make other work-life adjustments for childcare and care of vulnerable or elderly relatives. We have increased our communications to share regular updates with our teams.

Our manufacturing sites

We are committed to keeping manufacturing sites open, and we have taken additional precautions to protect our workforce whose work needs to be performed on site. This includes increased cleaning and disinfection, introduction of guidance to ensure social distancing, temperature screening for staff arriving and leaving, staggered breaks, adjusted shifts,  screening and restricted access for visitors, and we are making the correct personal protective equipment available to restrict transmission.

We have plans in place to temporarily close part or all of a site to perform deep cleaning in the event an employee tests positive for COVID-19.

Our products and services

Pandrol has a diversified manufacturing strategy with more than 20 locations globally. We aim to keep all our manufacturing sites operating at normal capacity to meet customer demands. For components purchased though our supply chain partners, we are working hard to minimize the risk of potential disruption by identifying diversified second-and third-tier direct suppliers where possible.  Our parts and components come from a complex and diversified supply chain, and we regularly speak with our strategic suppliers to assess continuity of supply.

Pandrol will be here to support our customers as needed in the field.  Some delays may be experienced in the areas of 3rd party testing, due to some closures in our non-essential laboratory operations.
