Pandrol and Links Investments set to Establish Rail Fastening Manufacturing Platform in Riyadh

Pandrol, a global leader in rail infrastructure solutions, is to establish an industrial platform in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in conjunction with Riyadh-based Links Investments. The new facility will manufacture rail fastening system components locally, supporting the Kingdom's ambitious programme of rail infrastructure development.
Production is planned to begin in the first half of 2027. The facility is expected to serve Saudi rail projects for many years to come and could also act as a platform to support rail development across the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
"Saudi Arabia is undertaking one of the most significant rail development programmes anywhere in the world and we are proud to be playing our part in it. Establishing manufacturing in Riyadh brings Pandrol's rail fastenings closer to this major growth area for rail.
"Links Investments shares our commitment to quality and brings a deep understanding of the Saudi rail sector. Together, we will build a local supply chain that creates skills and value within the Kingdom, supports the ambitions of Vision 2030 and, in time, can serve rail infrastructure across the wider GCC.”

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has set out bold plans for its transport infrastructure, as part of the national Vision 2030 transformation programme. Central to these plans is a rail network of more than 8,000km, connecting the eastern, western and northern borders of the country.
Delivering infrastructure on this scale calls for a resilient, responsive supply chain. By producing rail fastening components on a local level, Pandrol and Links Investments aim to shorten lead times, strengthen security of supply for Saudi rail projects and give contractors and network operators direct access to local technical support.
The venture will place a strong emphasis on developing local content throughout the supply chain, maximising the contribution of the investment to Vision 2030's goals for industrial growth, skills and economic diversification.
