Embedded solutions

QTrack

QTrack® is a continuously supported embedded track system that leaves the rail fully encapsulated in elastic, resin-bonded rubber rail profiles. Its unique shape and tailored stiffness provide consistent support without compromising on vibration control.

What are QTrack products and how do they work?

Pandrol QTrack® is an embedded, ballastless tram track system that gives the rail full vertical and lateral support without conventional sleepers or ballast. In this continuously supported embedded track, the rail sits within elastic, resin-bonded rubber rail profiles, controlling vibration transmission from rolling stock to nearby structures and managing stray current – particularly valuable on tram and light rail networks. Stiffness levels can be tuned to meet specific vibration attenuation targets, and QTrack® suits both grooved and vignole rail, from ballastless tram track systems through to heavy haul lines.

  • Continuously supported embedded track: supports the rail vertically and laterally while reducing vibration transmission to nearby structures.

  • Suits grooved and vignole rail: from tramway networks to heavy haul lines.

  • Tunes to different stiffness levels: meet specific vibration limits.

Product benefits

  • Multi-functional protection

Vibration isolation and stray current protection work together within one continuously supported embedded track system.

  • Increases track longevity

Even stiffness controls rail corrugation, cutting grinding and maintenance for one of the lowest lifecycle costs on the market.

  • Versatile by design

Adjustable stiffness lets you tune attenuation to the application, keeping QTrack® flexible wherever it's installed.

Overview

The standard Pandrol QTrack® system encapsulates the rail in resin-bonded rubber profiles, giving continuous vertical and lateral support without ballast. It suits both grooved and vignole rail, and stiffness can be tuned during design to meet the vibration attenuation levels required for the application, from tram networks through to heavy haul lines.
