Pandrol demonstrates importance of innovation in railroad engineering as official partner for World Engineering Day.
Pandrol, a leading designer and manufacturer in the railroad infrastructure sector, is proud to be an official partner for UNESCO World Engineering Day (WED 2026) for the second year running.

As part of this, Pandrol has launched a video to showcase its engineering expertise and innovation and how these have contributed to solving customer problems in the railroad industry.
This film includes interviews with Tom Williams, Head of Design & Process Engineering, John Spencer, Design Engineer and Quentin Wroblak, Product Technical Manager, who are all members of the technical team at Pandrol. They discuss the major railroad innovations that Pandrol has launched, starting with the modern rail clip, introduced back in the 1950s, through to the recent development of a lighter clip with multi-purpose insulator, which allows rail clips to be securely positioned and installed by one person instead of two, leading to significant savings on installation and maintenance.
WED officially takes place in March, which marked the start of a year-long campaign of events and activities highlighting the achievements of engineers around the world and promoting engineering as a career. As an official partner to WED, Pandrol’s film will form an integral part of the 12-month campaign, which provides a springboard for governments, UN-associated organizations, policymakers, educators and leaders in the public and private sectors to raise awareness of the importance of engineering.
We are delighted to be a partner with UNESCO for World Engineering Day 2026. As a business, we are committed to solving issues in the railroad industry with innovative solutions that make it quicker, easier, sustainable and more effective to install railroad track across the world. As a partner to World Engineering Day 2026, we hope to raise the profile of engineering as an exciting career choice and to inspire the next generation of engineers to contribute to a better future.
Frederique Coeuille, Chief Technology Officer at Pandrol
WED is jointly operated by UNESCO and the World Federation for Engineering Organizations (WFEO), which spans some 100 countries and represents more than 30 million engineers and is an International Day proclaimed by UNESCO.
