For more than 20 years, we’ve supported high speed railroads operating at the extremes of speed and precision. Our high speed railroad fastening systems and track technology have underpinned the world speed record of 574.8 km/h, and keep high speed railroad infrastructure running reliably on ballasted, non-ballasted and slab track worldwide.

Challenges

Every high speed railway operates at the edge of what track infrastructure can withstand. As speeds increase, so does the mechanical stress placed on every component: wheel-rail contact forces rise, vibration intensifies, and the tolerances for wear or misalignment shrink fast. Meeting these demands calls for a high speed rail fastening system engineered for far tighter tolerances than conventional high speed rail track requires.

Climate adds another layer of complexity. Trains often cross several climate zones in a single journey, running through extreme heat, cold, and humidity. Ballasted and ballastless track sections each bring their own maintenance demands, and with services running at higher frequency, the windows available for inspection and repair keep shrinking.

  • Track components face intensified wear and vibration as speeds climb, shortening component lifespans and increasing unplanned maintenance.

  • Shorter, less frequent possession windows leave engineering teams little time to inspect, adjust, or replace track components safely.

  • A single point of failure carries far greater safety and reputational risk when trains are traveling at extreme speed.

  • Ballasted and ballastless track sections each demand different fastening and maintenance approaches across a single high speed corridor.

    Enabling Reliable High-Speed Rail Infrastructure with Rapid Track Installation in Madrid

    In 2020, our customer, Azvi, required a ballastless fastening solution to be installed on a long viaduct on the Madrid– Galicia high speed rail line. This was an added challenge due to the viaduct needing to support train speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour.
