Power unit
Keep your on-track tools running with Pandrol's range of power units. Available in diesel, petrol and modular formats, each is built to deliver reliable hydraulic flow in demanding field conditions, so your rail maintenance and welding equipment needs are met.
What are Power unit products and how do they work?
Pandrol power units, also known in the industry as hydraulic power packs, are portable hydraulic power units that drive the full range of Pandrol on-track tools, from grinders and drills to spike pullers and tampers. Depending on the model, they run on diesel or petrol engines, or couple together in lightweight modular sections for easy transport into tight or hard-to-reach locations. Each unit generates the hydraulic flow and pressure your tools need to perform reliably on site, keeping maintenance and welding work moving without unplanned downtime.

Product benefits
Powers your entire tool range
One power unit drives rail saws and grinders, as well as drills, spike pullers and weld shears, cutting the need for multiple power sources on site.
Built for demanding site conditions
From automatic engine protection to ergonomic, modular designs, every unit is built to keep working in tough field environments.
Fast, safe tool changes
Quick-connect valves and lightweight transport options mean less time switching tools, more time on the track.
Overview
This diesel hydraulic power pack is powered by an 18 hp Kubota engine with electric start, delivering a choice of 5 GPM (19 LPM) or 10 GPM (38 LPM) at 2,000 psi (140 bar), depending on the tool connected. Automatic shutdown protects the engine from low oil or overheating, and a cooling fan supports operation in cold and warm conditions. Optional accessories include a catalytic converter, mounted hose reel and mobility kit.

Overview
Built from two lightweight sections that couple together on site, this this compact hydraulic power pack is designed for locations where weight and space are limited. It delivers 9 GPM of hydraulic flow, enough to run the full range of critical Pandrol hydraulic tools. Its ergonomic design supports safe manual handling, making it a practical choice for tight or hard-to-reach work locations.
Overview
This free-standing petrol hydraulic power pack runs on a 23 hp Kohler motor at a fixed engine speed, so no throttle control is needed. It delivers either two 5 GPM circuits or one 10 GPM circuit at 2,000 psi, letting you power two tools at once or one high-flow tool. An optional mounted hose reel with 50-foot hose and a lightweight mobility cart make transport and tool changes quick and straightforward.
