Since March, our factory in South Africa has benefited from the installation of 295 solar panels, each of 350W generating capacity.
The panels generate between 4% and 8% of the factory’s electricity usage, depending on activity levels. Power feeds
directly into Pandrol’s internal electricity system. The solar panels’ performance on a day-to-day basis is reviewed via an app and in the first month alone, the system saved over 7 tons of CO2 emissions – equivalent to 673 trees!
A fantastic example of a local initiative that will make a real difference to our carbon footprint and the future of the planet.
