Pandrol, a leading manufacturer of railway infrastructure solutions, is pleased to announce that its USP (Under-Sleeper Pads) have been approved by SNCF Réseau, the French railway infrastructure manager and subsidiary of the public group SNCF.
This success demonstrates that Pandrol’s USPs meet the strict operating requirements for the French rail network. This product range underwent a thorough approval process, including track testing over a period of 18 months. The test track was set up in collaboration with SNCF Réseau teams to test the performance of Pandrol’s USPs under real operating conditions.
Frédérique Coeuille, Technical Director at Pandrol, explains: “This is an important milestone for our USPs and a vote of confidence in the reliability of our recycled rubber technology. We are proud that these USPs have been approved by one of the world’s most renowned railway infrastructure managers. Thanks to this, we will continue to promote the benefits of these sustainable products across all markets.”
Pandrol USPs are manufactured from high-quality recycled rubber. This is a sustainable engineering approach that guarantees the lowest carbon footprint on the market. Renowned for their ease of installation, lack of maintenance and compatibility with all types of track, rail pads are widely used by railways around the world to reduce the life cycle cost of infrastructure and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
The installation of Pandrol’s USP reduces the stress on each sleeper by distributing loads more evenly, thereby extending the service life of track components.
Anchoring in fresh concrete is achieved using the patented MFF® (Micro Filament Fastener) process, which saves time during installation and improves the anchoring performance of the under-sleeper pads.
In addition, Pandrol’s USPs significantly reduce ballast wear, thereby reducing maintenance costs and increasing the availability of the railway infrastructure.
