Increase the safety of your passengers
Buckles and Breaks represent a hidden risk to track engineers which must be actively managed to maintain safety and operational efficiency of Networks. With climate change effects, the risk of track failure through extreme temperatures is growing. With this emerging threat, active management of rail stress is more critical than ever. Established best practice is for railways to manage rail thermal stresses through proactive monitoring and maintenance of the Stress Free Temperature (SFT) of the rail. By setting the SFT for the rails, track engineers can balance the peak tensile and compressive stresses within the rails and minimize the risk of buckles and breaks occurring.
Pandrol have built a broad range of experience to support customers mitigating the risks associated with Rail Stress Management. Our experience spans the full life cycle of the railway. This starts with the design of the track structure, where Pandrol can design, specify and supply track components which optimize long term structural integrity of the track. Pandrol are also experts in monitoring and maintaining the SFT of rail. Through Partnership with Pandrol, networks can take a proactive approach to RSM, maximizing, safety, resilience, reliability and available for efficient operations. Our proven products support customers around the world minimize the full life cost of maintaining safe and effective rail operations.
The project includes 23 km of new track and a total of 45,000 sleepers to be replaced. To execute a rapid and cost-effective distressing process, Leonhard Weiss selected the CD500 High-Output Clipping Machine, capable of installing Fastclip at 70 sleepers per minute.
i+weld dramatically reduces the time spent on track welding projects by integrating semi-automated processes that speed up weld completion.
Pandrol VERSE® is a giant leap for track safety management, risk reduction and new track quality acceptance.
Once lifted, the rail can be moved with very low friction for the purposes of rail stressing. The resultant stress distribution is, therefore, optimised.
It is used during maintenance works to stretch long welded rails before aluminothermic welding and to secure the tensioned rail while cutting. It is capable of joining and maintaining a constant gap between the two rail ends.
The Clip Driver CD100 B clipping machine is designed for clipping and declipping Pandrol Fastclips. Compact and lightweight, it is suitable for use by a single operator and can be easily carried onto site.
The modular, lightweight design of the CD200 IQ enables it to be lifted on and off track easily. Thanks to mechanical and hydraulic quick connectors, it is simple to change between the two clipping tools for Fastclip and e-Clip.
